Loose slot
Do you have a loose slot and/or bracket? If this does not bother you, just leave it like this until your next appointment. If it does bother you, you can try to place some wax on it to hold it in a fixed position. When on vacation, you can try to to snip off the wire (or have someone do it for you) with nail scissors or wire cutters, so that the bracket no longer troubles you. After your vacation contact us for an appointment.

Protruding wire
Is there a protruding wire hurting your cheek? Get someone to snip this off as short as possible after the last tie. This can be done with nail scissors/clippers or wire cutters. If this does not work, push a small ball of wax onto it. If you have no more wax, you can also stick a piece of sugar-free chewing gum onto it.
Or simply contact us 6 for an appointment.

Invisalign
If an Invisalign aligner is broken (e.g. a tear in the material), you can continue to wear it if there is no pain. If it does hurt to wear it, change both aligners for the preceding or next set.
If the aligner is broken in two pieces, please change to the next set of aligners. If the next step don’t fit, use the previous set of aligners and contact us 6 for an appointment.
If an attachment has come loose, please contact us 6 for an appointment and bring all the boxes of aligners with you.
Broken activator or plate
Is your activator or plate broken? If it does not hurt, you can continue to wear it. You might be able to level a sharp edge with a nail file. If it hurts to wear it, remove them, and contact us 6 for an appointment.

AdvanSync screw
If the screw is a little loose, you can try to tighten it up with the Allen key that you received from us. Please note that you cannot tighten the screw all the way. Once the screw is secure, there still has to be of a little movement in it. If your AdvanSync has become partially detached, or something is broken, the best thing to do is to remove it completely. This can be done with the supplied Allen key. Remove the AdvanSync on both sides.
If you go to an orthodontist/dentist who is on duty, you should take the Allen key with you. Then, make a new appointment with us anyway.
